Event Details

Come join us for the 7th Annual Raleigh Jaycees Bowl-a-Thon to benefit the local efforts of the American Red Cross.  The Bowl-a-Thon will be held Saturday, September 17 from 3:30-6:30pm at the AMF Pleasant Valley Lanes at 5501 Commercial Avenue in Raleigh.

Gather you and up to 5 of your best friends, club members, co-workers, church members or favorite family members. You do not have to have previous bowling experience. This event is for all ages! Each lane will contain 6 bowlers. Please list your "team name" or the name of your "team captain" when you register so we can match you with your group.  If you are not registered with six bowlers, we can place you on a team. We also encourage all participants to try to raise additional contributions by selling raffle tickets to friends, family, and co-workers.

We challenge each bowler to sell four (4) $5.00 raffle tickets (or raise 20.00 worth of donations) for the American Red Cross in addition to your fee.

The Triangle Red Cross in Raleigh supports fire, natual disaster and emergency victims locally in the Triangle area.  In light of the recent apartment fires in the area and now the tornado's in April, they could really use additional funds to help take care of those in need.  Jaycees has partnered with the American Red Cross many times in the past, and this year they need our help more than ever.

Prizes

In addition to raffle prizes, each bowler will recieve one door prize ticket included with their admission.  We will also be giving awards for the best bowler, worst bowler, and the individual who has sold the most raffle tickets.

We have over $500 worth of prices. The prizes have been donated from these fine establishments:

The Raleigh Jaycees have been a mainstay in the Triangle community, developing leaders through community service for more than 75 years. The chapter is now a thriving membership of young men and women between the ages of 21 to 40 from various personal and professional backgrounds.

The Raleigh Jaycees offer countless opportunities to:

• build professional and personal skills
• get involved in the community
• network professionally
• attend unique and exciting special events
• meet new people

Chartered in 1932, we are an all-volunteer civic organization that runs over 100 community service and leadership development projects each year. Annually we donate over $65,000 and countless volunteer hours to area organizations through our various projects. As an affiliate of the NC Jaycees, the US Jaycees, and Junior Chamber International, the opportunities provided by the Raleigh Jaycees truly are endless. There is no other young professionals' organization like the Raleigh Jaycees!

Disclaimer:

The Raleigh Jaycees are helping people affected by disasters by donating all net proceeds from the Raleigh Jaycees bowling tournament to the American Red Cross until September 30, 2011. The Disaster Relief Fund enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of disasters. On those rare occassions when donations exceed Red Cross expenses for a specific disaster, contributions are used to prepare for and serve victims of other disasters.
